The other day, I mentioned a product called Trustifier and OS security in general. I got some clarification from the folks over at Googgun (the folks that make Trustifier), and I figured I'd pass the information along.
At the time, I had thought that Trustifier was a Linux distribution (which is one half of the story,) but it turns out that it can also be installed on an existing RedHat box. In my opinion, this changes the dynamic a bit, since Trustifier gives Redhat the type of access control and audit typically required within the "high surety" world such as federal, financial, and insurance. For example, folks using RedHat in the US Government will likely be interested because it gives the type of additional access control and other security capability as SE Linux, but in a COTS product. Given recent DoD 'COTS' directives, I'm thinking there's an advantage over and above SE Linux for many programs...
