I saw on the Peter O'Kelly Reality Check that Oracle purchased Thor Technologies and OctetString.
Both are vendors of security tech according to the press release. Anytime Oracle says "security", I get suspicious. Here's the lowdown - Thor Tech sells "privilege management" and OctetString sells what are basically proxies but for databases. They also have an open source JDBC-LDAP bridge (a good idea.) The OctetString purchase makes sense to me, but I'm not clear on why they would want Thor... What's Thor have that Oblix didn't have?
