Snoop on Malware. Wait… what?

So have you seen the new HackIsWack website that Symantec has put out there?

I hadn’t seen this until the coverage started about how people were using the site’s security problems for rickrolling, and then more recently the fix to all that foolishness.

Yes, yes… all that stuff was interesting.   But I just can’t get past how incredibly bizarre the site is even without the security problems.  No, really.  If you haven’t checked out the site, here’s how it works:

Upload your less than 2-minute anti-cybercrime rap video at HackIsWack.com or at facebook.com/Norton. Click the links to share your video with friends, leave comments and vote for your favorites. Be sure to add tags to your video so everyone can find it easier on the site and across the web. When you’re sharing on Twitter, #SnoopNorton will serve as the official hashtag for the contest.

A panel of Norton representatives along with Snoop’s management will judge videos based on originality, creativity and how well they convey the anti-cybercrime message. At the end of the contest, a grand prize winner will be selected and receive two tickets with accommodations to a Snoop concert, the opportunity to meet his management or agent and a super cool Toshiba laptop.

Wait… what?

To make it easier on folks (since cybercrime isn’t the easiest of things to write a rap about), they’ve supplied this handy list of security terms for folks to use as they come up with their entries. I, for one, have been aching to see “rogue security software” appear in a rap video, so I’m glad Symantec is on this one.
